Kingsley Capital Partners (‘Kingsley’), the London-based private equity firm, today announces that it has signed an agreement to acquire McQueens Flowers Limited (‘McQueens’), the globally recognised luxury florist and flower school.

Founded in 1991, McQueens has established itself as one of the world’s leading florists for its breath-taking and unforgettable designs and installations. It has developed a unrivalled client base of London’s leading luxury hotels and restaurants and large blue-chip corporates. It also has a hugely successful floristry school, of growing popularity, providing both vocational and professional courses.

McQueens has made a name for itself providing flowers for some of the world’s most prestigious events. It has provided flowers for Vanity Fair’s Oscars After Party for the last 25 years, been the floral design partner for the All England Lawn Tennis Club’s Wimbledon Champion’s Ball, and supplied the London Evening Standard’s Theatre Awards, as well as hundreds of other stunning events and high-profile weddings each year.

Kingsley will work closely with the McQueens management team to review the business, put in place new process and systems, and develop a strategy to fuel the next phase of its growth, involving international expansion into new markets including in the Asia-Pacific and North American regions.

Hee-Dong Kim, Managing Partner at Kingsley, said: “We are hugely excited to be partnering with McQueens. The business is rightly famed for its amazing sense of style and exemplary quality of work, and we look forward to broadening the business’s global footprint”.

Kally Ellis, founder of McQueens Flowers, said: “I’m very proud of the success that McQueens has enjoyed over the last two decades, and am delighted that Kingsley have chosen to partner with us for this exciting next chapter in our history. Thanks to a brilliant and expert team, my small boutique London flower shop has grown into one of the world’s most respected and distinctive brands in floral design. I’m thrilled to have found in Kingsley people who really understand what McQueens is about and are keen to help us take the business to the next stage.”

The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
